Piercing Aftercare should be as seriously as tattoo aftercare to be taken. Your piercing will be a while 'commitment, if you lose your post-treatment, can cause serious infections, and the need to remove the jewelry. Most piercers will give you a tattoo artist as an aftercare kit or offer different products for purchase.
Most piercers now offer a product called H2Ocean, is sterile and environmentally friendly.
It comes in the form of pastes and spray tattoo post-treatmentfor piercing. The items required are as follows:
* H2Ocean or other approved antimicrobial, antibacterial liquid soap (Again, you do not choose, or Neosporin as it may be too hard)
* Cotton balls, cotton swabs or
* Disposable Cups
* Paper towels or clean cloth
When cleaning the piercing, you should first wash your hands thoroughly (2 minutes), NOT your piercing or jewelry with dirty hands. You could then saturate the piercing withH2Ocean, if you were using soap to saturate the swab or cotton ball with warm water. Dry the dried blood or plasma, which has gathered around the piercing. You should then carefully move the piercing, and to ensure it is properly cleaned. Rinse the area with soap, then dry with paper towels or a clean soft cloth.
Often, the piercer will tell you to soak your piercing in sea salt. Place a small amount of salt on the bottom of a disposable cup.About ½ tsp. Then pour in hot water as hot as you can see, the salt should be. They just want to fill more than half full in a 5 oz cup of the cup you want to reverse directly above the piercing, and hold it there for 5-6 minutes. This technique usually works well for nipple and navel piercings like. If you do not seem to have a good seal around the skin, have a cotton ball with H2Ocean and hold it there for 5 minutes. Rinse the piercing with warm water and patdry. DO NOT use table salt!
